Anal fissure treatment
What is anal fissure?
If the anal area is painful, itchy or bleeding if the skin around the anus is especially sensitive and vulnerable, or irritated, it may lead to anal fissure. This rupture of the anal area of the skin, which, if left untreated, can lead to subsequent inflammatory ulcer or fistula.
How does the anal fissure appear?
It is often caused by constipation.
What are the symptoms of anal fissure?
The main symptom is pain during and after defecation caused by the vast amount of nerve endings in the anal region, but there may also be bleeding, swelling of the anus, anal discharges and sometimes urination fails.
How to treat anal fissure?
Anal fissure is treated with conservative measures (by applying diets and defecation correction, by different types of medication) or with a surgical operation, while using anasthesia. Treatment method should be advised by an experienced proctologist.
What to do if you experience these symptoms?
You need to pay a visit to the proctologist who, during the first consultation, will find out the patient complaints, will determine the duration of the disease, its nature, if necessary, examine the anus visually, or examine the anal canal with his finger or an endoscope. If there is a need, and the proctologist suspects another disease, he will send you for additional testing.
How do I prepare for a proctologists consultation?
You should use a clyster 2 hours prior to visiting the doctor (preferably use the repeated use one, they are sold in pharmacies).
