Correction of Breast Asymmetry
Many women dream of elegant and sexy breasts. Sometimes the breasts have been small since the day you were born, or one breast is clearly smaller than the other. Plastic operations can help restore the symmetry of the breasts, as well as augmenting or reducing them.
Why do you need a consultation?
During consultation, you will tell the plastic surgeon about what type of breasts you would like to have, and what you would like to change. It will help the surgeon understand, summarize your desires, and decide if the operation of correction of breast asymmetry suits you.
GK Clinic specialists will examine your breasts, consider the asymmetry, size and shape of the breasts, the quality of your skin, and the condition and location of the nipples and areolas. It is very important to inform the doctor if you have had any other breast operations or mammography.
The plastic surgeon will inform you about all the advantages and disadvantages of the operation. You will also consider the desired size and shape of your breasts, and the new location of the nipples. If you wish, this operation can be performed combined with breast augmentation. In this case, the surgeon will individually choose the most suitable breasts implants for you.
You should also mention what medications you take, past operations, or if you have abnormal blood pressure or other diseases, for example, diabetes mellitus or thyroid pathology. You should not forget to talk about taking any drugs, which can diminish blood coagulation, and any allergies.
How is correction of breast asymmetry performed?
The Correction of Breast Asymmetry is performed under general anesthesia. The extent, duration and technique vary with individual needs. The duration greatly depends on the extent of intervention needed: if one breast needs to be enlarged by an implant, another reduced or only lifted, or any other variations required to achieve the desired results. We will advise you to spend 2-3 days after the operation under the observation of GK Clinic specialists.
What is the recovery time for breast asymmetry correction?
You will usually be able to go back to work in one week. Hard physical work and sports are not recommended for 4-6 weeks. The plastic surgeon will fit you with a special bra, which should be worn for 6 weeks after the operation.
Are the scars easily observed?
The sutures are removed after one week. The scars keep fading for one year after the operation. In helping to fade the scars, the plastic surgeon will recommend some special procedures for you. Some laser procedures can also be helpful one year after the operation.
