Family doctor services

Primary healthcare services are accessible to all residents of Lithuania and are targeted at the treatment of patients’ main health problems. The patient is initially referred to a family doctor, who decides what kind of help the patient needs. Family doctors have a knowledge of the main symptoms and preventive measures of the diseases that fall within their professional competence. They know the indications for the most frequently used medications and their potential side effects. The family doctor decides when they have to consult with a specialist. The State Health Insurance Fund pays for the services rendered by family doctors. Applicable legal acts allow every individual to freely choose a primary healthcare institution or family doctor that is closest to their place of residence or the most convenient for them to reach.

The GK Clinic has signed a contract with the State Health Insurance Fund about the Provision of Primary Healthcare Services, and patients who belong to the clinic do not need to pay for family doctor services.
