How is treated feet and hand psoriasis?

Feet and hand psoriasis treatment is complexive depending on this disease outspread and progress. The following treatment methods are selected: locally used medications, oral medications or phototherapy; usually these methods are combined together, so the effect is achieved faster, the period without rash becomes longer.

What is phototherapy?

Phototherapy is a treatment using UV light. UVA (320-400 nm) and UVB (280-320 nm) light is used for the treatment. The equipment used in GK Clinic enables applying both UVB and UVA procedures only for feet/hand treatment, not irradiating the whole body, what increases safety of the treatment.

Does phototherapy can be prescribed to everybody?

Phototherapy treatment can not be prescribed in case of increased skin sensitivity to sun (if a patient suffers from porphyria, red plaque on the chin, lupus vulgaris, or other diseases, which which get worse with sun rays), also, in cases of skin cancer or any serious internal diseases. It is not recommended to apply these procedures for kids. Medical consultation before prescribing these procedures is strongly recommended.

How many procedures do I need ?

In every case the number of procedures is different. In average, 10 to 20 procedures can be administrated per single treatment course.

How much time will be spent? Is it possible to perform this during lunch break?

The procedure itself lasts for 15-30 seconds up to 10 minutes. Since the GK Clinic is located in the centre of the city, this must be an ideal location for very busy people, who after the procedures can immediately go back to their work.
