Am I a good candidate for this operation?

During consultation, you will tell the plastic surgeon about what result you would like to have, and what you would like to change. It will help the surgeon understand, summarize your desires, and decide if you are a good candidate for nipple surgery.

Why do you need a consultation?

Our GK Clinic specialists will examine your breasts, consider size and shape of the nipples, the inverted nipple and grade. It is very important to inform the doctor if you have had any other breast operations or mammography.

The plastic surgeon will inform you about all the advantages and disadvantages of the operation. You will also tell him about your desired size and shape of the nipples. The plastic surgeon will individually choose the best suitable operation technique for your particular needs.

You should also mention what medications you take, past operations, or if you have abnormal blood pressure or other diseases, for example, diabetes mellitus, thyroid pathology, etc. You should not forget to talk about taking any drugs, which can diminish blood coagulation, and any allergies.

How is this operation performed?

The operation is performed under local anesthesia. It lasts for an hour.
Different surgical techniques are used to fix inverted nipples depending on the problem to be treated. Some surgical techniques preserve milk ducts, the other ones not (shortened milk ducts must be divided from the nipple). After operation the surgeon will put a special nipple splint. We will advise you to spend some time after the operation under the observation of GK Clinic specialists.
